Job Title: Facility Clerk – Wildlife Rehabilitation Center

Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Facility Clerk to join our wildlife rehabilitation center team. The Facility Clerk will be responsible for communication with individuals who find wildlife in need of care, recording important intake information, and maintaining accurate records in our computer system. This is a crucial role that supports the smooth operation of our center and ensures proper documentation for each animal that comes into our care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communication with Wildlife Finders: Serve as the primary point of contact for individuals who find injured or orphaned wildlife. Per rehabilitator's instructions, provide guidance on proper handling and transportation of animals to our facility.

  • Data Entry: Record essential intake information for each animal, including the finder’s contact details, animal species, condition, location found, and other relevant data, into the computer system.

  • Intake Process Support: Assist with the intake process by ensuring that all necessary paperwork is completed and all required information is accurately recorded.

  • Communication with Team: Work closely with wildlife rehabilitators, technicians, and other team members to ensure that animals are appropriately assessed and cared for after intake.

  • Shift Commitment: Must be available for at least one shift per week. Shifts are from noon to 4:00 PM on Saturdays, Sundays,  and some holiday Mondays and Fridays.

Qualifications:

  • Required: Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact calmly and professionally with the public.

  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in using computer systems for data entry and record-keeping. Familiarity with basic office software (e.g., Access, Excel) is a plus.

  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in recording intake information and maintaining records.

  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills to ensure proper record-keeping and effective communication.

  • Availability: Must be able to commit to at least one shift per week (noon to 4:00 PM on Saturdays, Sundays, holiday Mondays, or Fridays).

  • Reliability: Dependable and punctual.
