
Job Title: Animal Care Technician (NYS Rehabilitators License Required or Pursuing)

Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Animal Care Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will either have a New York State (NYS) Rehabilitators License or be actively pursuing the license, with prior experience in animal care. As an integral part of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the well-being of the animals in our care, meeting their medical, nutritional, and emotional needs.
Key Responsibilities:

Animal Care & Handling: Attend to the daily needs of all patients in the facility, including proper handling and ensuring their comfort and safety.

Medical Support: Assist in the administration of medications and treatments as prescribed by veterinary staff. Monitor patient health and report any changes or concerns.

Nutritional Care: Ensure all animals are fed according to their dietary requirements, including administering special diets when necessary.

Facility Maintenance: Assist in maintaining clean and safe environments for the animals. This includes cleaning enclosures, changing bedding, and ensuring proper sanitation.

Documentation: Keep accurate and up-to-date records of the animals' health, treatment, and progress. Ensure all medical and care notes are completed in a timely manner.

Collaboration: Work closely with other animal care technicians, wildlife rehabilitators, and veterinarians to provide the best possible care for all patients.

Shift Commitment: Must be able to commit to a minimum of 5 two-hour shifts per week.
Qualifications:

Required: NYS Rehabilitators License, or in the process of obtaining one.

Experience: Prior experience in animal care, preferably in a rehabilitation or wildlife setting, is highly desired.

Skills: Excellent animal handling skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, attention to detail, and strong communication skills.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move animals safely, and perform physically demanding tasks as required.

Commitment: Must be able to commit to at least 5 two-hour shifts per week.
