Job Title: Support Technician - Wildlife Rehabilitation

Job Description:

We are looking for a reliable and motivated Support Technician to join our wildlife rehabilitation team. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity to learn the everyday details of wildlife rehabilitation while contributing to essential tasks such as laundry, dish-washing, and cage cleaning. As you develop skills and knowledge in animal care, you will have the opportunity to provide more direct animal care and assist in rehabilitation efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Laundry: Handle and launder animal bedding, towels, and other materials used in the facility, ensuring they are clean and ready for use.

  • Dish-Washing: Clean and sanitize all dishes, feeding equipment, and utensils used for animal care, maintaining high hygiene standards.

  • Cage Cleaning: Assist in the daily cleaning and sanitization of animal cages, enclosures, and living spaces to ensure a clean and safe environment for all wildlife patients.

  • Wildlife Rehabilitation Training: Learn hands-on skills in wildlife rehabilitation, observing and assisting with the care and handling of animals under the guidance of trained rehabilitators.

  • Animal Care Assistance: As skills and experience are gained, gradually take on more responsibilities related to animal care, including feeding, administering medications, and supporting rehabilitation efforts.

  • Shift Commitment: Shifts are scheduled at 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM.  Each shift lasts approximately 2 hours. Candidates must be available to commit to at least 2 shifts per week.

Qualifications:

  • Required: A genuine interest in wildlife rehabilitation and a willingness to learn.

  • Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods of time.

  • Attention to Detail: Strong focus on cleanliness, organization, and maintaining high standards of hygiene in all tasks.

  • Reliability: Must be dependable and committed to scheduled shifts.

  • Team Player: Ability to work as part of a team while also being able to work independently when needed.
